navigating the dark
This week has been rough for me… how about you?
I had some loving guidance come through this evening that I needed to hear and be reminded of. Maybe this was meant for you too…
Dear one,
It is ok to not know.
It is ok to be in the dark.
It is ok to feel like you have gone crazy.
It is ok to feel like this is the end.
It is ok to fall apart.
It is ok to cry.
It is ok to scream.
It is ok to shake.
It is ok to feel like this will never end.
And it is ok to hate that you feel this way.
Beloved,
It will not be like this forever.
I promise.
Breathe in.
Breathe out.
Again.
Breathe in.
Breathe out.
Wrap your arms around yourself and gently rock side to side.
Yeah, like that.
It’s ok to need to be held.
Ok beloved,
Now stand up.
Take one step.
That’s it. That’s all. Just one step.
Ok, now take another.
Just one more.
Sweet one!
That is enough for now.
You are doing a brilliant job of navigating this darkness with perhaps very little light to guide you.
This is no easy task you have taken on.
Stop.
Did you receive that fully?
YOU ARE DOING A BRILLIANT JOB OF NAVIGATING ALONE IN THE DARK!
Keep going.
Slowly.
And remember:
1. Breathe in. Breathe out.
2. Take one step. Take another step.
3. It will not be like this forever.
You’ve got this brave one.
