walking through the fire
She could
…until she couldn’t anymore
And contrary to popular belief
This wasn’t a step backwards
But a victory
On the surface she had come undone
Not many could hold the space for her
For she had taken a deep dive into herself
Where she could begin to feel again
The things that been numbed out
And forgotten
To keep her safe
For so long
And from this place
Of feeling
Of seeing
Of being
Of expressing
The things she use to do, be, tolerate
Were no longer possible
And so
She wore this
I CAN’T
As a badge of honour
For the Warrior that she was
Who was brave enough
To be in the front lines
Of those who choose to walk into the fire
Of feeling
And being
Again
